Business with a Human Rights Core

What is the “Business and Human Rights” framework? How can it be used to improve employee engagement while also creating a more conscientious business? 

Learn about why the burgeoning international framework of business and human rights is relevant and vital to the longevity of businesses of all sizes and in all locales. This roundtable discussion will include specific examples of how this framework can be implemented to improve employee engagement and better community relationships.

  • What advantages does it bring to employee engagement?

Our Speaker:  Colleen Brisport

Colleen Brisport is an independent business and human rights advisor and an active volunteer of the Conscious Capitalism Programming Committee. Ms. Brisport received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Labor Relations from Cornell University in 2011. In 2012 she received a human rights masters from Columbia University for her research on the application of human rights norms by a large multinational coffee company pertaining to their relationship with a Costa Rican coffee cooperative. Ms. Brisport graduated from New England Law | Boston in 2016 where she focused on regulatory compliance, employment law and human rights law. Ms. Brisport is available to advise your business on how to use the business and human rights framework to secure employee rights and to strengthen employee engagement. Additionally, Ms. Brisport is certified in conflict resolution and can mediate workplace disputes.


About the Conscious Capitalism Studio Series:  This is a member-led program series where we learn from the Conscious Capitalists in our midst. The program consists of a 15-minute presentation by a member followed by an open discussion with the attendees. After an hour, the group adjourns to a local establishment for continued conversation and networking. New CC Studio applications accepted here
